Vol. 487 No. 1

Written Answers. - Domestic Water Supplies.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

113 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the extent to which domestic water supplies storage capacity has increased in the past ten years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3517/98]

Between 1989 and 1996, it is estimated that storage capacity for treated water, for domestic and other uses, increased by a total of 189,000m ³, or about 41.58 million gallons. Information relating to the period prior to 1989 is not available in my Department. The 1998 Water Services Annual Report, to be published later this year, will contain information in relation to 1997.
