Question:

280 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if an application for financial assistance has been received in his Department for the development of rowing facilities (details supplied). [3859/98]

An application from the Rowing Union of Ireland was received in my Deparmtent on 11 February 1998 and will be considered when grant allocations are being made for the coming year in accordance with the criteria for awarding such grants as set out in the terms and conditions of the sports capital programme.

281 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation if he has sanctioned lottery funding for the development of Aclare sports park in County Sligo in view of the submission that was lodged in his Department in October 1997; when the funds will be allocated; the amount of funds which will be granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4055/98]

An application from Aclare sports park was received in my Department in October 1997 and will be considered when grant allocations are being made for the coming year in accordance with the criteria for awarding such grants as set out in the terms and conditions of the sports capital programme.
