Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy O'Shea — the need to take action to render Faithlegg Church safe, in the public interest, and to preserve it as an important historical site; (2) Deputy Timmins — the Government policy on rural policing; (3) Deputy Gay Mitchell — the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 768 to the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform about the harassment of a couple (details supplied) in Dublin 12; (4) Deputy Perry — the action the Minister for Education and Science proposes to take to deal with the fact that in 25 schools in Sligo the measures introduced to deal with the risk to children of radon gas are proving ineffective; (5) Deputy Gormley — the multiple application for licences to genetically engineer sugar beet, in the absence of sufficient Government policy or legislative controls; (6) Deputy Sargent — to ascertain the Government's position on the Multilateral Agreement on Investment, taking into account the concerns expressed on this proposed agreement by developmental and aid agencies; (7) Deputy Ring — the plans, if any, the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform has to regulate or prevent public demonstrations on the main streets in Dublin and whether a section of Phoenix Park could be used instead; (8) Deputy McGinley — the need to find an alternative air transport company replacement service to continue regular daily flights between Donegal International Airport, Carrickfin, and Dublin due to the recent liquidation of EI Air Exports; (9) Deputy Farrelly — the delay in approving the appointment of a remedial teacher for St. Oliver's Post Primary School, Oldcastle, County Meath; (10) Deputy Ellis — the position regarding the proposed closure of Ballinamore Textiles, County Leitrim; (11) Deputy Stanton — the need to make funds available to CIE to enable the company re-open the rail link to Midleton, County Cork, and (12) Deputy Naughten — the need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to immediately introduce financial support for young farmers.

The matters raised by Deputies Gormley, O'Shea, Gay Mitchell and Perry have been selected for discussion.
