Question:50 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the consideration, if any, which has been given by the General Affairs Council to enhancing the role of the EU Court of Auditors. [4285/98]

The General Affairs Council has not given consideration to this subject. The Deputy will be aware that the Treaty of Amsterdam strengthens the role of the Court of Auditors without changing its basic functions.
