347 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received an application from the education and youth project group in Ballina, County Mayo; if so, if he has examined the worthiness of this proposal; if he is now in a position to give approval to their claim; and when this scheme can actually commence. I am aware of the application to which the Deputy refers.

Officials of my Department met recently with representatives of the project in question and arising from this meeting additional details were submitted to my Department.

My Department is currently giving detailed consideration to the proposals put forward by the project and I would expect that a response will issue shortly.
