Vol. 487 No. 6

Written Answers - Extradition Agreements.

John Gormley

Question:

107 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the extradition arrangements, if any, which exist between this country and the Republic of Mexico. [4641/98]

Both Ireland and Mexico are parties to the Hague Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Seizure of Aircraft, 1976, and the Montreal Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Civil Aviation, 1971. Provision is made in these multilateral agreements for extradition between states parties thereto in respect of offences which are covered by the conventions.
