Written Answers. - Army Bands.
The position in relation to Army bands is being addressed in the context of the reorganisation of the Defence Forces under the Defence Forces Review Implementation Plan, 1996-1998. In devising a new organisation and structure for the Defence Forces, the military authorities have provided for the assignment of 136 personnel to the School of Music — which includes the bands. They have assured me that this number is sufficient to meet the requirements of the school.
