258 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of the application for an extension for Coláiste Phádraig, Lucan, which was first pursued in 1991 and is with his Department; and if the project will be expedited in order to help relieve the chronic shortage of space at the school. My Department's senior architect has discussed a number of proposals for the provision of the necessary extra accommodation at Coláiste Phádraig with the school's consultant architect.
The post-primary building unit of my Department is now awaiting the submission of the outline sketch scheme from the school authorities and as soon as this has been received, the project will be advanced further. At this stage, it is not possible to say when construction will commence.
