263 Mr. O'Malley asked the Minister for Education and Science when he will sanction grant aid, which was first applied for in early 1995, for the erection of an extension to Ahane national school, Castleconnel, County Limerick, which is seriously overcrowded. [5521/98]

As the Deputy will be aware, the demands for capital funding in the primary sector are considerable. The position on this project is currently under review, in the context of an examination of overall capital funding. I can assure the Deputy that full consideration is being given to the needs of the school.
