Vol. 488 No. 1

Written Answers - Schools Equipment.

Dick Spring

Question:

264 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will sanction the application submitted by a school (details supplied) in County Kerry for the provision of a hardware and software package which would benefit children needing remedial help and particularly in the case of dyslexia. [5522/98]

The application in question is one of a number of such requests which have been received in my Department.

In accordance with normal practice, my Department's inspectorate has been requested to consider the application having regard to the needs of the children in question.

I can assure the Deputy that once the inspectorate's report is received, the application will be fully considered.
