Question:

245 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Mayo could be given an earlier appointment for an EEG and EMG at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 9. [7323/98]

The provision of medical treatment to persons at Beaumont Hospital is the responsibility of the hospital. I have asked the chief executive officer of Beaumont Hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

246 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will examine the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who has been unable to obtain a bed for urgent medical treatment (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7324/98]

As the provision of treatment to the person concerned is the responsibility of St. Vincent's Hospital, I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
