Eamon Gilmore

Question:

281 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will sanction the brief for the consultants for the Arklow main drainage scheme which was submitted by Arklow Urban District Council in June 1997. [7030/98]

Liz McManus

Question:

282 Ms McManus asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when he will sanction the brief for the consultants for the Arklow main drainage scheme which was submitted by Arklow Urban District Council in June 1997. [7031/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 281 and 282 together.

A brief for the appointment of consultants for this scheme was approved on 12 February 1998.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

283 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government whether proposals or request for funding has been submitted by Sligo County Council in relation to the provision or upgrading of sewage treatment facilities at Rosses Point, County Sligo; if so, the nature and extent of the cost involved; the date on which the application was received; and the action, if any, taken or proposed by his Department. [7071/98]

Cohesion funding was sought in 1994 for a sewerage scheme at Rosses Point as part of the Sligo Bay waste water management scheme. However, approval for the planning of stage 1 of the Sligo Bay scheme did not include Rosses Point. A preliminary report in respect of Rosses Point has not been submitted by Sligo County Council to my Department.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

284 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government whether proposals or a request for funding has been submitted by Sligo County Council in relation to the provision or upgrading of sewage treatment facilities at Standhill, County Sligo; if so, the nature and extent of the cost involved; the date on which the application was received; and the action, if any, taken or proposed by his Department. [7072/98]

There are no proposals for a sewerage scheme at Strandhill with my Department. A sewerage scheme at an estimated cost of £1,365,285 was completed in 1993.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

285 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government whether proposals or requests for funding have been submitted by Sligo County Council in relation to the provision or upgrading of sewage treatment facilities in areas of County Sligo other than Standhill or Rosses Point; and, if so, the nature, extent, cost and status of these. [7073/98]

Details of relevant proposals are set out in the following table:
