Noel Ahern

Question:

143 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the position on the previously stated policy to open a probation and welfare office in Ballymun, Dublin 11; the target date involved; if he will confirm that his interest in finding a location is known to Ballymun Regeneration currently designing the new Ballymun; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7778/98]

The property market in Ballymun has been explored and no suitable accommodation has been found. Both the Office of Public Works and the Probation and Welfare Service are continuing their efforts to obtain a suitable premises. If the Deputy knows of any suitable available premises, my Department would be glad to consider it. I can confirm that our requirements have been intimated and detailed to Ballymun Regeneration.
