127 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Galway will receive a herd number following his application some three months ago in view of the fact that this delay has effected his eligibility for suckler cow and ewe premium grants; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A completed application form for a herdowner was received in the Galway district veterinary office from the person in question on 27 March 1998. To clarify certain aspects of the application, a meeting is being arranged with the applicant and a decision will be made shortly.
