Vol. 489 No. 4

Written Answers. - Northern Ireland Peace Process.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

63 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the plans, if any, he has to brief his counterparts in the European Union in relation to progress in the talks process in Northern Ireland; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6353/98]

Since taking office as Minister for Foreign Affairs, I have briefed many international colleagues, including those from European Union member states, on developments in the peace process, and shall of course continue to do so. In addition, our diplomatic missions abroad, and officials from my Department in Dublin, frequently brief foreign officials and diplomatic representatives.
