Pat Rabbitte

Question:

46 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Public Enterprise when she expects to receive the report of the consultants appointed to examine the option of putting part of the Luas system underground; the likely subsequent timetable for the construction of the scheme; the position regarding EU funding; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8319/98]

Ivor Callely

Question:

72 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the progress, if any, of the independent study to assess the option of putting the Dublin light rail system underground; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8478/98]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 46 and 72 together.

The position in relation to the consultants' report remains as set out in my reply to Question No. 74 on 24 February 1998. The position in relation to EU funding remains as set out in my reply to Question No. 54 on 5 March 1998.
