61 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Public Enterprise when it is proposed that the consultants' report into the Luas project will be completed; and when the Government intends to make a determination on the issues contained in the report. [8496/98]
I expect to receive the consultants' report on the option of putting the Dublin light rail system underground in the city centre before the end of April. This is in accordance with the agreed delivery deadline and my Department has recently received assurances from the consultants, WS Atkins, that the delivery deadline will be met.
I will bring proposals to Government for decision immediately I receive the consultants' report. The report will then be published and will be available to all interested parties.
Recent media stories on the consultants' purported recommendations are no more than speculation, since their report is not yet completed.
