Vol. 489 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

284 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will receive his payment; if he can proceed with his planned works; if payment will be expedited in view of the serious family circumstances due to medical problems; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8835/98]

Approvals in this case issued under the dairy hygiene scheme and the control of farm pollution scheme on 16 January 1996. The applicant indicated in writing to my Department on 7 May 1996 that he wished to cancel his dairy hygiene application and proceed with additional works under the control of farmyard pollution scheme. Consequently, an amended approval issued under the control of farmyard pollution scheme and the associated grants totalling £13,500 were paid to him in two instalments in January and October 1997. As the dairy hygiene scheme has been suspended since 4 October 1996, the applicant is now ineligible for the scheme.
