Vol. 489 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

191 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who had to wait for one year for an outpatient appointment at the ear, nose and throat department at Crumlin Hospital, Dublin 12 must wait a further 15 months for admission for a tonsillectomy; the steps, if any, he intends to take to remedy this situation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9666/98]

The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of Crumlin hospital. I have asked the secretary manager of Crumlin hospital to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
