174 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo had her appointment with an eye consultant postponed for four months, with no reason given; and if she can be seen earlier than August 1998 at University College Hospital, Galway in view of her age and her condition. The provision of medical treatment in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
