Vol. 490 No. 5

Written Answers. - Junior Certificate Examination.

Bernard Allen

Question:

305 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science when a decision will be made on an application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a concession to have his junior certificate examination presented to him through an audio medium; the reason the application submitted in February 1998 has not been considered; and the reason this person has not been assessed personally in order that he can take his examinations through the audio medium in view of the fact that it is now a short time to the examination and he will have to become accustomed to that medium if a concession is offered to him. [10652/98]

Applications for special arrangements are made through the authorities of the school which the candidate is attending. My Department has confirmed with the school concerned that no application for special arrangements has been made by them in respect of the person in question.
