Vol. 490 No. 6

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Seán Ryan

Question:

115 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will report on the position regarding the need for either a permanent extension to the existing national school in Donabate or the provision of a new school at an alternative location, in view of the increase in the schoolgoing population in the Dublin North area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10886/98]

The existing national school in Donabate sought a permanent extension to cope with increased pupil numbers. My Department agreed to the provision of the major extension and advised the school accordingly. If an alternative solution is proposed by the school management, my Department will consider any such proposal when it is formulated and submitted.
