Vol. 490 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

137 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a deseasonalisation slaughter premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite payment. [11183/98]

The person named applied for deseasonalisation slaughter premium on eight animals on the 15 April 1997. This application was validated and processed for payment. At this time a problem arose in respect of his 1996 stocking density calculation. As a result an overpayment amount of £360.54 which was made up of suckler cow premium and corresponding BSE top-up was deducted from the amount due under the deseasonalisation premium scheme. Therefore, a cheque for £120.18 representing the balance issued to the herd owner.

The problem which resulted in the incorrect stocking density calculations for 1996 has since been resolved and manual payments for £360.54 have been processed and payable orders will issue over the coming week.
