Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

140 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if special beef premium payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford in view of the fact that he submitted a doctor's certification of his illness which led to his being unable to conform to a recent inspection. [12903/98]

The person named submitted an application under the 22 month special beef premium scheme in respect of 75 animals on 30 January 1998. This application was selected for field inspection which was initially arranged for 28 April 1998 but did not proceed. It is understood that the inspection has been rescheduled for week commencing 8 June 1998.

Payments under the special beef premium scheme cannot commence before 1 November in any given year.
