Vol. 491 No. 6

Written Answers. - Subdivision Applications.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

139 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of subdivision applications lodged, approved and refused in 1996 and 1997. [12902/98]

The Land Commission receives an average of over 200 subdivision applications every week. Subdivision consent, which is subject to certain specified conditions, is issued in all but a very small number of cases.

The number of subdivision applications received since the middle of November 1997, when the subdivision consent procedure was computerised, total 6,232. All the applications have been approved. Figures for the number of applications received prior to that date are not available in an easily accessible format.
