Question:

247 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason an application for a visa has been refused by his Department in relation to a person (details supplied) who has already been granted a work permit by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment. [12815/98]

The applicant was refused an entry visa to the UK and in line with public policy, which is taken to include the protection of the common travel area, an entry visa to this State was refused.
