203 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if favourable consideration will be given to assistance towards the World Conference of Girl Guides which takes place from 1 to 9 July 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13261/98]
My Department supports the work of the girl guides and girl scouts through the provision of grant aid under the terms of the youth service grant scheme and I will consider the possibility of financial assistance towards the 1999 World Conference in the light of available resources in the coming year.
