204 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will ensure that youth organisations, including the Irish Girl Guides, are provided with the funding and resources they require to enable them to continue providing services and training to young people; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department provides funding for youth work services through the provision of grant aid to a broad range of voluntary youth organisations, including the Irish Girl Guides.

A sum of £13,567,000 has been made available in 1998 to provide continuing support for youth work services and further funding is being sought.
