Vol. 491 No. 7

Written Answers. - Defence Forces Firing Ranges.

Charles Flanagan

Question:

73 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Defence if he will agree to examine the design of the Department of Defence warning signs around the Glen of Imaal firing ranges, County Wicklow, in view of the fact that they can cause confusion to tourists and people who are unfamiliar with the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13006/98]

The safety of individuals visiting areas such as the Glen of Imaal is of paramount importance to the Department of Defence and the design and location of warning notices are kept under constant review in order to achieve that objective.
