Vol. 491 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hearing Impairment Claims.

Ivor Callely

Question:

74 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Defence if his Department has considered the submissions by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 1; his views on this person's knowledge of the issue of army deafness; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12929/98]

The submissions made by the person involved, whom I have met and is knowledgeable about this issue, have been considered by my Department among a wide range of other submissions and suggestions. The management of this complex and important problem is kept under continuous review and every avenue which offers a realistic chance of improving the situation is being explored.
