Question:56 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the position in relation to Canning's Lane, Coney Road, Muff, County Donegal; and the possibility of its reopening in the near future. [13659/98]
Written Answers. - Cross-Border Roads.
I refer the Deputy to my reply to her previous question on 28 April regarding Canning's Lane.
I very much regret that the section of this road which lies in Northern Ireland has not yet been fully opened. I understand that the relevant authorities in Northern Ireland are currently giving careful consideration to the legal aspects of the issue.
The views of the Government that this matter should be resolved as quickly as possible have been conveyed on many occasions to the Northern authorities. We will be staying closely and actively involved with the issue.
