Vol. 492 No. 1

Written Answers. - Newspaper Advertising.

Derek McDowell

Question:

57 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she will outline the expenditure on advertising for 1997 in each of the national daily, evening and Sunday newspapers by her Department, and bodies under her aegis in receipt of Exchequer funds which are established by or under an Act of the Oireachtas. [13426/98]

The Department of Public Enterprise was established on 12 July 1997. From that date to year end expenditure on advertising in each of the national daily, evening and Sunday newspapers was incurred as set out in the table beneath. Expenditure on advertising by State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department is a day to day operational matter for those bodies and I have no statutory function.
