Vol. 492 No. 4

Written Answers. - Irish Horseracing Authority.

Michael Ring

Question:

157 Mr. Ring asked the and the Minster for Agriculture and Food the plans, if any, he has to amend legislation to allow the Irish Horseracing Authority to introduce a levy on all thoroughbred foals born in Ireland rather than a levy on sales; and, if so, the effect, if any, this will have for small breeders of thoroughbred horses. [14169/98]

I have no plans to amend legislation for the purpose outlined by the Deputy.
