Vol. 493 No. 3

Written Answers. - Companies Act, 1990.

Austin Deasy

Question:

65 Mr. Deasy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if a company (details supplied) in County Waterford has been in compliance with the Companies Act, 1990, under the terms of its contract involving the planting of trees on the property of a person (details supplied) in County Waterford. [15941/98]

While I am not aware, that the indicated company is in breach of the Companies Acts, I am prepared to examine any specific complaint, which the Deputy may wish to make.

However, I have been informed by the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources that the two parties have had a formal contract covering the development and maintenance of a site for forestry development, for an initial four year period and that the company would have received grant payments under the Forestry Operational Programme, for that purpose. Arising from recent correspondence, I understant certain matters relating to this arrangement are now being examined by that Department. The Deputy's concerns in this matter may accordingly best be addressed by contacting the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources direct.
