246 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress, if any, on his Department's re-examination of the staffing situation for a school (details supplied) in Dublin 11; if the teaching position under threat can be retained; and when this decision will be made. [16687/98]

Officials of my Department recently met a delegation from the school to which the Deputy refers regarding the staffing situation at the school.

The presentation made by the delegates, which addressed the need to retain the existing staffing levels at the school, is being carefully considered within my Department. A decision in this matter is expected soon.
