Vol. 494 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Austin Deasy

Question:

102 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if the case of a person (details supplied) in County Waterford will be examined in view of the fact he is a long-term hospital patient and has been informed that he will have to wait two years for a hearing test; and if he will provide additional staff and funding to ensure that lengthy delays do not occur. [18973/98]

The provision of hospital services to eligible persons in County Waterford, in this instance, is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
