Vol. 494 No. 6

Written Answers. - Nationality and Citizenship Acts.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

121 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the nature of the amendments to the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Acts, 1956 to 1994, being prepared for publication by his Department in the context of the British-Irish Agreement. [19010/98]

As already indicated in the Government's legislation programme, announced by the Chief Whip on 28 September 1998 for the current Dáil session, the Bill to amend the Irish Nationality and Citizenship Acts is in the context of the British-Irish Agreement. The heads of that Bill are in course of preparation in my Department and the details will be announced in due course in the normal way.
