Question:368 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the current position in relation to a land registry application (details supplied) in County Donegal. [19561/98]
Written Answers. - Registration of Title.
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 (that is, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) by the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 16 December 1996. I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, take some time to process. Accordingly, it is not possible to estimate a completion date for the application concerned at this stage.
However, I can assure the Deputy that the Land Registry will do everything possible to expedite the resolution of this application.
