134 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the plans, if any, he has to provide additional funding from his Department's Estimates for coastal erosion remedial works for 1999 and beyond; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19523/98]
The development and funding of a national multiannual coast protection strategy is a major policy priority. I am pursuing the necessary funding for coast protection work in 1999 and forward years in the context of the present Estimates round and in the context of preparations for the National Plan 2000-2006.
