Vol. 495 No. 1

Written Answers. - Flock Numbers.

Michael Ring

Question:

183 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is experiencing delay in the issue of a flock number to him as this is also hindering grant aid, quotas and premium payments; and if a flock number will be issued as a matter of urgency. [19236/98]

The person named has applied for a flock number but his application will not be processed further until he applies for headage and premia grants. The first 1999 grants that he may apply for will be the sheep headage and ewe premium scheme and the application period for these will commence on 8 December 1998 and end on 8 January 1999.

The absence of a flock number at this stage will not hinder his application for grants nor will it hinder the processing of his application for quota.
