Vol. 495 No. 4

Written Answers. - Nursing Homes.

Question:

220 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will assist a person (details supplied) in Dublin 20 to obtain affordable nursing home accommodation in view of the fact that her family can no longer afford the full costs charged in a private nursing home; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19921/98]

As the Deputy is aware, the provision of health services in the Dublin area is a matter in the first instance for the Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board to examine this case as a matter of urgency and respond directly to the Deputy with the board's findings.
