Vol. 495 No. 4

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Paul McGrath

Question:

279 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when funds will be made available to Westmeath County Council to enable the sewerage plant at Kinnegad, County Westmeath, to be upgraded to facilitate further housing development in this rapidly growing town and in view of the fact that this is priority one for Westmeath under the development lands initiative; and when works will commence. [20488/98]

My Department is currently considering a proposal from Westmeath County Council for the funding of the upgrading of the Kinnegad sewerage treatment plant under the second tranche of the serviced land initiative. I will make a detailed announcement concerning new allocations under this initiative in the near future.
