Question:127 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the funding, if any, made available to a day care centre (details supplied) in County Mayo for the provision of a new building for psychiatric services. [20636/98]
Written Answers. - Mental Health Services.
The provision of health services, including mental health services, in County Mayo is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. I have not received any proposals for funding for a day care centre in the location referred to by the Deputy. I have been informed, however, by the Western Heath Board that it has been actively engaged in seeking a suitable site for a new day care facility in this location which will be funded from the proceeds of previous sale of lands. Funding arrangements in respect of the provision of a new building or purchase and adaptation costs have not been finalised by the board.
