I have received a submission from the Craft Butchers of Ireland on behalf of the Small Abattoir Group who are requesting inclusion for financial assistance in the new Structural Funds for the years 2000-6. My Department met with a delegation from the Craft Butchers of Ireland on 10 November to discuss this submission, which will be considered in the context of the preparation of the National Development Plan, 2000-6.
