Question:

67 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo received £242 compensation under the 1997 weather related crop losses scheme in view of the fact he incurred losses of approximately £528; and if his compensation will be increased. [23274/98]

Only applications in respect of fodder crop losses were eligible under the conditions of the scheme. The applicant in question received compensation for the loss of all 44 bales of silage claimed.
