Michael Creed

Question:

173 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a 1997 area aid application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be examined; and if payment of an extensification entitlement will be made. [23491/98]

The 1997 area aid application for the person named was processed. On the basis of the area declared by the applicant, there was no entitlement to an extensification payment. Amendments to 1997 area aid applications can not be accepted if received after 15 May 1997.

Question:

174 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will appoint an official from his Department to review an area aid application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork which is the subject of ongoing difficulties. [23492/98]

The area aid application for the person named has been processed. However, part of the land application has been claimed by another applicant. Both parties have been written to and their conflicting responses have been forwarded to an inspector in my Department for examination.
