Vol. 496 No. 6

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

239 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a ewe hogget grant has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway on a 1997 application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23863/98]

It is a condition for payment of 1997 sheep headage grants that an applicant must submit a valid area aid application on which he declares forage area. The person concerned lodged a 1997 area aid application on which he applied for arable aid payments only. He did not declare forage area on that application. He is therefore not entitled to avail of sheep headage grants for 1997.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

240 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when sheep headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23865/98]

The area aid application for the person named has been processed and any payments due will issue as soon as possible.
