Dan Neville
Question:306 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the total grants paid either directly or indirectly by his Department or health boards to each Cheshire home. [23497/98]
Vol. 496 No. 6
306 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the total grants paid either directly or indirectly by his Department or health boards to each Cheshire home. [23497/98]
I presume the Deputy is referring to grants paid in 1998. Additional revenue funding, on a full year cost basis, and once-off capital funding was made available by my Department this year, through the health boards, for the maintenance and development of services in the Cheshire homes as set out in the table below.
I should point out that, in addition to this funding, these homes are also grant assisted by the health boards under section 65 of the Health Act, 1953. I do not have the information readily available to me regarding grants paid under section 65 for 1998. However, I have asked the health boards to supply this information and I will communicate further with the Deputy when this becomes available.
