117 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the number of legislative measures to be implemented within his Department to complete the EU single market legislative programme (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23593/98]

In response to the Deputy's request the following is the position in relation to outstanding legislative measures within my Department.

Directive Number.

Present position.

95/70 — Introducing minimum Community measures for the control of certain diseases affecting bivalve molluscs.

Draft regulations transposing the Directive are about to be submitted to the Minister for signature.

95/71 — Amending Annex to Directive 91/493, laying down the health conditions for the production and placing on the market of fishery products.

Consideration being given at present as to whether implementation is possible without further legislation.

97/61 — Amending the Annex to Directive 91/492 laying down the health conditions for the production and placing on the market of live bivalve molluscs.

Consideration being given at present as to whether implementation is possible without further legislation.
