241 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if an emergency procedure will be provided in St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin 4, before 12 January 1999 for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24598/98]

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the statutory responsibility of the hospital concerned in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital concerned to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
